It may be shocking but it is a fact that road rage has now shifted to enjoyable gambling platforms, what with the angry poker player a terrible reality of many gaming communities today.

From taunts to abuses to bickering and downright insults hurled at other players, poker etiquette has taken a royal beating in the last decade since online poker became such a huge global phenomenon with bigger bets, bonuses, bots and lots more benefits for regular gamers!

So, learn to read the signs behind the trash talk or poker taunts at your table and you will be able to defend your play by putting the trash talker on tilt or even intimidating him into some form of passive play! Now, that would be really like turning the tables on someone lacking sporting spirit so go ahead and do it!

Whatever the provocation, never abuse the Party Poker dealer, by action or by words because something like throwing away cards on the table because they weren’t any good or using abusive language is downright immature and clearly reflects your lack of sophistication about the game since the dealer gives out random cards and is not being biased towards you or the others. Also remember that if some player at your table gets lucky and isn’t really a good player, you must control your feelings of disappointment and not let the frustration show.

Similarly, if a player loses and even if he played a bad game, taunting them on losing the pot is simply bad player spirit, so avoid it. Players with low self esteem and bad tempers are known to call names and spew at losers with phrases like, “Moron – I expected that from you!” or making racist comments like “You fold on spades or clubs because you are a black hater” or even “LOL.” Don’t do this – it is just childish. A Poker taunt isn’t always verbal though and “Slow Rolling” is considered a taunt just as much as cussing or being rude as mentioned above. This is when a player has a winning hand and deliberately waits to declare a show only after others are done showing their hands.

Avoid the above mistakes and you are sure to make friends at the poker table and win the respect of other players by following correct poker etiquette.
